ONE MAMMOGRAM. TWO LIFE SAVING RESULTS.

NOT JUST ANOTHER MAMMOGRAM.
MAMMOHEART is an AI screening tool for asymptomatic women between the ages of 40 and 89. It is intended to detect the presence or absence of breast arterial calcification in parallel with breast screening mammography.
It is not intended to be a diagnostic test; however it is an indication of possible cardiovascular risk and may require patient action.
WHY IS THIS SCREENING SO IMPORTANT?

HEART DISEASE
is the
NUMBER 1
of women. It is responsible for approximately 1 in 3 female deaths, killing more women than all forms of cancer combined.
BREAST CANCER
is
NUMBER 2.
killer

7× more women die of heart disease than breast cancer.
Every 34 seconds, another life is lost to Cardiovascular Disease, but 44% of women don't even know it's their greatest threat.
Nearly 80% of these deaths are preventable, especially with the evaluation of Breast Arterial Calcifications(BAC).
THE FACTS
WHAT ARE BACS?
12-25%
BAC AND
MACE
Breast Arterial Calcifications(BAC) are deposits that form within the medial layer of breast arterial walls — a pattern of vascular mineralization known as Mönckeberg's arteriosclerosis. Unlike intimal calcifications of atherosclerosis, which narrow the arterial lumen and restrict blood flow, BAC preserve luminal patency. Yet their presence signals something clinically important: systemic vascular disease.
Of women will have Breast Arterial Calcifications(BAC) present on their mammograms, but 5% of them go unreported.
Research increasingly links BAC to major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE), including heart attack, stroke, heart failure, and cardiovascular mortality. BAC have also been independently associated with chronic kidney disease (CKD), type 2 diabetes, hypertension, and peripheral arterial disease — conditions that share the same underlying biology of medial vascular calcification.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q
WHAT ARE BACS?
Breast Arterial Calcifications (BAC) is a calcium build-up in the arteries of the breast. The calcium deposition leads to arterial stiffening and increased pressure on the vessel walls. This is regularly observed on screening mammography.
Q
IS MAMMOHEART AVAILABLE TO EVERYONE?
Patients with breast implants are not eligible for MAMMOHEART.
Q
IS MAMMOHEART COVERED BY INSURANCE?
No, MAMMOHEART is not yet covered by insurance. Patients can pay with cash/card, or HSA/FSA account.
Q
IS MAMMOHEART AN ADDITIONAL EXAM?
No! A screening mammogram serves as a two-for-one exam with no additional screening and no additional radiation.
Q
IS MAMMOHEART FDA APPROVED?
YES!
Q
CAN I ADD MAMMOHEART TO MY PRIOR EXAMS?
YES! If you have completed your mammogram with us within the past year, we can add MAMMOHEART for you. Just call in and request it.
Q
WHEN WILL I GET MY RESULTS?
This does not increase the amount of time for you to get the results of your mammogram. The results of your BAC screening will be available alongside the results of your breast cancer screening.
Q
WHAT DO BACS LOOK LIKE ON A MAMMOGRAM?
In the image below you will see the BACs represented by the GREEN outlines.
